Chamber met at Hog Wild Pizza
Meeting was called to order by President Glynda Pryor. The minutes of the Oct. meeting were read by secretary; Correction to Holiday House Tours to read 4 houses and 1 church on tour. Motion to accept minutes made by Charlie Vaughn and seconded by Carla Cash - motion carried.
The treasurer’s report shows a balance of $1547.89. Includes Ozark Gateway 11-12 membership for $50.00, Ozark Gateway Visitor Guide - $2700.00 and 12 member ship clings for $60.54. 1 outstanding check for $50.00 for Spooktacular. Motion to accept treasurers report made by Akim Lettner and seconded by Mike Robertson. Motion carried.
A Spooktacular report was given by Carla Cash. Went well except for pumpkin carving contest. Income from the event was 1324.63, She thanked volunteers for helping and suggested time be moved next year to an earlier time.
Carla also suggested that the chamber sponsor a hospitality room @ the Junior Basketball
Tournament. Leta made the motion to look into the event. Motion carried.
Carla also introduced Kim Johnson as Interim Director at Fulton Co. Hospital.
Ribbon Cutting ceremonies were held for Rob’s Flea Market Modern Woodmen and Misty Springs Bike Shop October 20.
Glynda announced that the Holiday House Tour tickets are on sale at $10.00 per person. Maps are available. Tours are December 4.
Christmas Parade update Parade is December 10 at 2:00; lineup at 1:00. Theme is “A Christmas Tail”. Prizes are the same $150, $100 and $50. There will also be ribbons for various categories. There will be a crowning of Miss Merry Christmas and carols in Gazebo area. There will also be a city Christmas Tree with a tree lighting ceremony and hopefully caroling and the reading of the Christmas Story following the parade. Carla Cash made the motion for $300.00 for the parade seconded by Melanie and the motion carried.
Joan motioned that Rosa Hatfield be Grand Marshall of the parade, Leta seconded and the motion carried.
There will be a merchants decorating contest. Joan moved that the winner receive a chamber membership Joe seconded and the motion carried.
Window clings were passed out.
Joan moved that chamber dues remain $25 seconded by Melanie. The motion carried.

Chamber met at Wood’s Riverbend Restaurant
Meeting was called to order by President Glynda Pryor. The minutes of the August meeting were read by secretary; Corrections to Beaver Family Run (97 entries and $1,100 made) and to Spooktacular time (4-8). Motion made by Akim Lettner and seconded by Lee Davis to accept the minutes with revisions; motion carried.
The treasurer’s report shows a balance of $3033.80. Joan Baker moved to accept report; seconded by Trena Spears; motion carried.
Steve Russell announced Ribbon Cutting ceremonies scheduled for Rob’s Flea Market, at 10:00 October 20 with Modern Woodmen following. Misty Springs Bike Shop not scheduled at this time; (attempt to hold same day)
A Spooktacular update was given by Lee Davis. Going well, need more helpers for games. Over $1200 donated for events/prizes. A suggestion for a Karaoke event at City Gazebo was made, canned goods can be donated for the Food Pantry, and a Pumpkin Carving Contest if someone would help.
Glynda announced that the Holiday House Tours is a go with 5 houses on the tour at this time. Tickets will go on sale October 31 at $10.00 per person.
New Ambassador Volunteers are Joan Baker, Anthem Eider, and Mike Robertson.
Window clings ordered should be here by November.
Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery Friends to meet October 20 at 6:00 pm at Simmons Bank Community Room.
The Mammoth Spring Facebook page with history of Mammoth Spring as a major emphasis has been set up by Adam Davis. Please check it out, join and suggest it for your friends to join.
Trena Spears with Modern Woodmen made several announcements about fundraisers for girl’s basketball team, and Little League baseball, and the Senior Center mostly through the raffling of gift certificates. Also on Oct. 20, the Chapter dinner will be from 5-7 at Wood’s Riverbend.
WRAA Salem office will conduct a workshop on Medicare Part D October 21 from 9-12.
Ozarka College Mammoth Spring, Student Appreciation Day is October 20.

Chamber met at Mammoth Spring Lodge/ food from Subway.
Meeting was called to order by President Glynda Pryor. The minutes of the August meeting were read by secretary; motion made by Akim Lettner and seconded Ron Cornelius to accept the minutes; motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was given by Jennifer Crowe. Balance is $3655.63 with two checks voided; new check written to Mammoth Spring Band and hand delivered.

SOJD Events Reports
Car Show given by Ron Cornelius; 57 paid entries, approximately 250 spectators; car show net proceeds - $247.99. Car show committee needs more members. Planning to add a new class next year “Rat Class” which is the original old car without any restoration.
Joan Baker gave update on SOJD play went very well; good attendance.
Beaver’s 5K Fun Run/Walk had 96 entries and brought in a profit of $1,090 for Ozarka College Mammoth Spring Campus.
Leta Montgomery reported on other SOJD events; Everything went well; vendors reported good sales; good participation in other events – suggested that next year leave off bouncy games for children; not very many participated this year and Chamber paid $711.25 for them.
The 1st Annual Cruzin Night sponsored by Mountain Man Iron Works and Misty Springs Bike Shop went very well. Jean Pace reported $74.00 made for Food Pantry and $74.00 for Shop with a Cop. The Bike shop is also planning a Poker Run on October 8 with proceeds going to Ozarka College Mammoth Spring.
A Spooktacular update was given by Lee Davis. Budget is $300.00.
Need more games; Jessica Wrenfro and students from Ozarka will man prize table.
Time change was discussed; Motion made by Jennifer Crowe to change the time from 5-8 to 4-7; Seconded by Joe Garrison; Motion carried.
Simmon’s Bank will conduct a book sale for the library during Spooktacular.
Glynda announced that the Holiday House Tours is a go with 5 houses on the tour at this time. It was agreed that the Chamber would continue with window clings. Also Volunteers needed for Friends of the Fish Hatchery to assist with gift shop duties and other activities dealing with moneys.
Steve Russell announced that Ozark Gateway ads are due and will go on sale.
Christmas Parade will be December 10; Dave Jackson will chair the committee; volunteers and others on the committee include Rose Pierce, Renee Arnold, Jim Mills, Steve Russell.
Rose suggested a Mammoth Spring Facebook page with history of Mammoth Spring as a major emphasis; Adam Davis will set it up.
Steve Russell and Jennifer Crowe thanked the SOJD Events Committee Members and Class of 65 for a job well done.
Glynda Pryor announced that it was time to begin thinking about new officers for next year.
2 Health Fairs were announced. September 22 at Shady Oaks and Sept. 24 at Salem Baptist Church
Also Carla Cash announced a Thrift Store had been established by the Fulton County Foundation Board; open Wednesday through Saturday 10-4. Also taking donations. Contact Trena Spears or Holly Pate.

Meeting was called to order by President Glynda Pryor. The minutes of July’s meeting were read by secretary; motion made by Akim Lettner and seconded Ron Cornelius to accept the minutes; motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was given by Jennifer Crowe. Balance is $4,113.04 with two checks still outstanding; Motion made by Carla Cash to void both checks (Sign Company and Mammoth Spring High School Band) and to write a new check to the band, seconded by Charles Vaughn, motion carried..

Jennifer Crowe gave an update on the Food Pantry; they have added commodities to the pantry and are now able to provide more food to the amounts given. Advertising helps to bring in more families.

Glynda announced that Spooktactular will have the same leadership this year and will be help on Oct. 29. Also that the Holiday House Tours committee met and have 2 houses for the tour this year (Charlotte Allen and Marilyn and Ed Crowe’s) need at least 5. If anyone has suggestions or wishes to put their home on the tour please contact Glynda Pryor.
Steve Russell suggested that the Chamber look into a major Spring Event (Renaissance Fair) and to try to come up with a plan to promote the Mammoth Spring businesses during the week of the Reunion.

Chamber met at La Pastorella Bistro; President Glynda Pryor opened the meeting; the minutes were read; motion made by Akim Lettner and seconded by Leta Montgomery to accept the minutes; motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was given by Glynda Pryor. Balance is $4,113.04. Two checks were still outstanding; someone was going to check on those checks… Motion made by Melanie Halfacre to accept treasurer’s report seconded by Akim Lettner motion carried.
President Glynda Pryor reported that the Welcome to Arkansas Class was well attended; announced that anyone needing materials should contact Adam Davis at Mammoth Spring State Park. Ribbon Cuttings were held for Accents of Christmas and the Hardware Store.
New businesses for ribbon cutting ceremonies include The Flea Market and the Mister Springs Bike and Leather Shop. New Ambassadors for July, August, September are Steve Russell, Carla Cash, and Joan Baker.

The newspaper; Spring River Chronicle announced the opening of an office in Mammoth Spring.
Leta Montgomery announced the Solemn Old Judge Days events planning was going well with 17 vendors reserving spots; Jean Pace gave an update on the 1st Annual Beaver Spring River 5K fun Run/Walk. Entrance forms for the run are available; the cost is $15.00 in advance and 20.00 the day of the event. Proceeds from the event go to Ozarka College Mammoth Spring. Leta asked for volunteers to help for events at SOJD; Rose reported free advertising from Spring Dipper and Jilly’s Café in Mammoth and West Plains. Minutes June 9, 2011
President Glynda Pryor read the minutes from the May 2011 meeting. Akim Lettner made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, Leta Montgomery seconded that motion & the motion carried.
Jennifer Crowe presented the financial statement. The balance is $4,809.79. Joan Baker made a motion to accept the financial statement as presented, Joe Garrison seconded that motion and the motion carried.
President Glynda reported that the Welcome to Arkansas class will be held June 28th and several businesses have been contacted. This will be at the Fire Station.
President Glynda reported that the Car Show flyers are ready to hand out.
President Glynda reported the Thayer 4th of July Fireworks committee has asked for a donation. Jean Pace made a motion to donate $100 to help support the display. Sue Forschler seconded that motion and the motion carried with one opposed.
President Glynda reported that there would be ribbon cuttings on June 10th for Accents of Christmas and the new Hardware Store.
Leta Montgomery reported that the SOJD committee had met and was working on this event. The singers & children’s games are arranged. The Gun Shoot/Bank Robbery will not happen due to the group that usually performs that has dissolved. Barbara Gantner suggested we contact Patrick McIntyre. Barbara will report back at the next meeting.
Jean reported that her family is working on the Run that proceeds will benefit the Ozarka Foundation at Mammoth Spring. Every participant will receive a medallion and a T shirt. The entry fee is $15. The run will start at the touristinformationCenterand end at theCityPark. Jean requested the Chamber furnish fruit for the runners. Jennifer made a motion to furnish fruit, Ron seconded that motion and the motion carried.
Jean reported that the SOJD Play is a go.
Jean also reported that the Ozarka Golf Tourney was a huge success.
Ron Corneilus reported that the Thayer Chamber of Commerce Banquet would be held 6/20 at Steve’s Old School Bakery. Ron also reported that the Caboose is not open yet.

Chamber met at Fred’s Fish House; President Glynda Pryor opened the meeting; the minutes were read; motion made by Ron Cornelius and seconded by Steve Russell to accept the minutes; motion passed.
The treasurer’s report was given by Jennifer Crowe. Motion to accept the report was made by Akim Lettner and seconded by Carla Cash. The motion carried.
Guest speaker, Sara Seagraves, from the Federal Fish Hatchery was introduced by President Pryor. Sara’s job at the hatchery – Education Outreach and she stressed the need for a “Friends” group to sell gifts at a gift shop, take any moneys, and in general volunteer to help with all outreach programs. She also gave an update on the Federal Aquatic Center which is projected to be completed by March, 2012. President Glynda Pryor will get information out concerning the formation of a Friends Group.
Adam Davis gave an update on the Welcome to Arkansas program and passed out information which will be shared with the businesses of Mammoth Spring. Training for the program will be June 28 from 9:00-12:00 at a place to be announced. All businesses should send representatives to this meeting. Call the Park if you have any questions.

Joan Baker announced that the SOJD Play will be held and reserved the Pavilion at the state park.
Glynda passed out flyers and announced Spring River Cleanup will be June 1 from 8-4; Call the park (625-7364) by May 30 to sign up.

Minutes April 14, 2011
President Glynda Pryor read the minutes from the March 2011 meeting. Melanie Halfacre made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, Sue Forschler seconded that motion & the motion carried.
Jennifer Crowe presented the financial statement. The balance is $4,799.44. The final 2011 Dutch Oven breakdown showed a net profit of $119.59. Akim Lettner made a motion to accept the financial statement as presented, Ron Cornelius seconded that motion and the motion carried.
President Glynda reported that the Ground Breaking for the Aquatic Conservation & Education Center was held March 23rd and the weather was wonderful. The Chamber served sandwiches at Ozarka after the groundbreaking for the representatives.
Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce
Harry Sorg & Joe Garrison reported that the Rabies Clinic went very well. They served 135 cats & dogs and the profit to the Chamber was $800.00.
President Glynda asked for new Ambassadors for April, May & June. Dave Jackson, Trena Spears & Jennifer Crowe volunteered for this job.
President Glynda reported that D & T Pawn will be closing May 12th. Glynda asked the Chamber to consider refunding their 2011 membership and a vote took place later in the meeting. Jean Pace made a motion to prorate their membership and refund 8 months back to them. Leta Montgomery seconded that motion and the motion carried with one opposed.
Leta Montgomery reported that the SOJD committee had met and was working on this event. The committee asked the Chamber to pay for the kid games like they have done in the past. Sue Forschler made a motion to pay up to $800.00 for the kid games, Trena Spears seconded the motion and the motion carried.
President Glynda reported that the Garden Club would be having their Annual Herb & Plant sale Saturday, April 16th.
President Glynda reported that the MSSP would be holding their Annual Easter Egg Scramble on April 24th at 2 pm. Fun & FriendsSeniorCenter helped stuff the eggs and the local 4H group helped stuff the prize eggs.
Jean reported that there would be a Golf Tournament held June 11th to support the Ozarka Mammoth Spring campus. AnthemEder reported that the campus has 80 enrolled, 2 summer sessions lined up and 36 courses schedule for the fall semester. Jean asked the Chamber to sponsor 2 holes for the tournament. Steve Russell made a motion to sponsor 2 holes, Joe seconded the motion and the motion carried with one opposed.
DruryUniversityreported that Tammy Hathcock, director at the Thayer campus, donated $200.00 to the Mammoth Spring Little League to be used for uniforms.
Jennifer Crowe reported that the Mammoth Spring Little League is having a fundraiser to raise funds for a batting cage by selling Krispy Kreme donuts.
Jean Pacereported that she was contacted by a New York TV Station that would like to do a program in our area. The cost would be around $10,000 and she is going to look for Grant Money from Ozark Gateway to fund this project. Jean is gathering more information on this project.
Ron Cornelius reported that the St Jude Car show might be postponed or cancelled.
President Glynda reported that some upcoming events at the Park are Scalies & Slimies and DO Workshop.
Dave Jackson reported that he is working to try to remove the vegetation & silt that is in the lake. The preliminary cost to dredge the lake would be $1 million. Other options are chemicals to kill the vegetation or a weed cutter on a smaller scale.
President Glynda reported that the Knap-In took place with bad weather. 11 people registered, but spectators were sparse due to the rain, sleet, snow, thunder & cold temps.

New members Heavenly Paws and Accents of Christmas An update on the Dutch Oven Cook-off was given, 8 teams competed; Steve Russell moved to donate left over grocery supplies to the food bank - seconded by Ron Cornelius. Motion carried. The Rabies Clinic - April 2, 2011, at the Simmons Bank Parking Lot from 9:00 - 12:00. Cost $10.00 and $15.00. Publicity starts the week of March 14.. Art in the Park will be incorporated into Solemn Old Judge Days events. Members voted to make a donation of 5 cookbooks to the Rotary auction; to be held April 4-8; motion made by Steve Russell - seconded by Ron Cornelius. Motion carried. The Easter Egg hunt will be April 24 at MSSP; Jennifer Crowe made the motion to donate $100.00 to the event - seconded by Renee Arnold; Motion carried with 1 objection. Announcments by president 1. Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce met at Hog Wild Pizza on February 17, 2011. The meeting was called to order by President Glynda Pryor. Minutes were read and accepted. Treasurer Jennifer Crowe gave the financial statement. The balance is $4, 472.67. Motion to accept was made by Ron Cornelius and seconded by Charles Vaughn. Motion carried. Glynda gave an update on the membership; currently 35-36 members. New members in attendance were introduced by President Pryor with an update of new members. An update on the Dutch Oven Cook-off was given. The Rabies Clinic, headed by Joe Garrison and Harry Sorg, is confirmed for April 2, 2011, at the Simmons Bank Parking Lot from 9:00 - 12:00. Art in the Park was tabled again. Members voted to make a Prom Lock-in donation of $50.00. Motion was made by Jennifer Crowe and seconded by Ron Cornelius. Motion carried with 1 opposed. Ozark Gateway magazines, event flyers, calendar of events at MSSP were distributed to members, Ron Cornelius announced that the St. Jude’s Car Show, an annual event will be held at Mammoth Spring Also it was announced that Anthony Bourdain (Travel Channel) visited Mammoth Spring and ate at Fred’s Fish House and filming on Main Street. Minutes of January 13, 2011
Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce met Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Wood's Riverbend Restaurant. The meeting was called to order by Pres. Glynda Pryor at 12:05 p.m. New members and guests were redognized. (Jilly's Cafe', WRAAA, Mountain Man Iron, La Pastorella Bistro, and Old World BBQ)
There were no Dec. minutes available; Glynda reminded everyone of the Chamber website and stated the minutes will be posted within one week of the meeting. Treasurer Jennifer Crowe was absent so financial statement was presented by Glynda. Balance of $3,831.32. Motion made by Ron Cornnelius and seconded by Sue Forschler to accept financial report as read. Motion Carried.
It was announced that 5 new businesses are opening in town (doughnut shop, hardware store, pawn shop, barber shop, and Modern Woodman Insurance).
Volunteering to be ambassadors for Jan. - Mar. were Melanie Halfacre, Leta Montgomery, and Sue Forschler. Other committees were reviewed and members stayed the same. Joe Garrison will contact Dr. Langley and set date for Rabies Clinic. Dutch-Oven Cook-Off committee will meet Thursday, January 20th at Simmons Community Room at noon.
Several announcements were presented: Ron Cornelius stated that the cost of MAACC judges for the car show was increasing from $1.50/car to $2./car. Civic Center in West Plains offering many events. Anthem Eder announced that college classes at Ozarka (Mammoth Spring) had started - over 74 students. GED classes available there. Thank you note from Brian Baker, winner of the scholarship sponsored by the Chamber - read to group. Modern Woodman organizing a kids group working on art projects for kids 15 and younger to begin. Fulton County Hospital sponsoring mammograms and WRAAA mentioned assistance available through their organization.
Next meeting will be February 10th at Hog Wild Pizza.
